Windshield Repair

Frequently Asked Questions

  • How do I know if my windshield can be repaired

We adhere to the industry ANSI-ROLAGS standard that states that Stone-breaks up to two inches in diameter and single line cracks up to 14 inches are repairable.  Sometimes there are exceptions to this depending on the actual damage and the location of the damage.  For more information on whether your damage is repairable: Click Here

  • Will the repair continue to spread after you have repaired it?

The chip or crack that you see IS broken glass.  The purpose of a repair is to save and mend the broken glass to restore strength and clarity to avoid having to replace the windshield.   In some cases, the simple attempt of repairing can cause the chip or crack to become larger. Should this happen, we will attempt to stop the break from spreading further unless it goes beyond repairable size.  If the repair goes beyond what is deemed repairable by industry standards, your technician will stop the repair process and discuss options with you.  However, upon a successful repair, we can guarantee that the chip or crack will not spread any further.  In the very rare event that our repair does not hold, we will credit the cost of the repair either toward a new windshield or, in the event of insurance work, back to the insurance company.

  • Will your windshield repair process make the glass invisible?

No. Windshield repairs are designed to stop the break from spreading further and to restore the strength back to glass thus restoring the structural integrity of the vehicle. Each break is different and results vary depending on size, age, and location of the break.  It is normal for a slight blemish or imperfection to be visible where the impact occurred following a successful repair. Your technician can help you determine what to expect prior to starting the repair.  It is normal for most successful repairs will result in a 60-90% visual improvement compared to the damage prior to the repair.  While the primary purpose is to stop the break from spreading, visual results are extremely important to us.  We utilize state of the art equipment, techniques, and resins to deliver not only the strongest but the clearest repair possible.
